For guests who are fond of walking tours, we are hosting a special lunch event with a guided tour of the Filsø lake area followed by lunch at renowned Henne Kirkeby Kro.
Work up a good appetite as you explore the beautiful scenic area surrounding our venue.
About the lunch event
The Filsø Lake & Lunch event can be booked on the following dates:

10:00 am: starting time
Event participants will meet at Henne Kirkeby Kro and will be welcomed by the inn and nature guide Merete Vigen.
The guided tour to Filsø will depart from here. Guests will be driving in their private cars to the area with several stops and short walks on the way. Duration: 2½ hours
Afterwards, Merete will accompany participants to Henne Kirkeby Kro.
13:00 pm: lunch
After lunch, you can stroll through the gardens around Henne Kirkeby Kro.
Price: DKK 995,- per person, not including drinks

About the guided tour
The first part of the tour goes to Tejnebjerg with its magnificient view of Lake Filsø. The tour continues to the beautiful architectonic gems - the Ellipse Bridge and Filsø Nature Centre. You will hear more about the nature restoration of Filsø and the bird painter Johannes Larsen.
The famous painter visited the inn every year for a period of 30 years while painting and hunting around the unique landscape.
The tour continues to Petershold Birdwatching Tower on Lake Filsø, where it is possible to see red dear before hearding to Henne Kirkeby Kro for a delightful lunch.
The walk is about 3 km long. Duration: 2½ hours
About Merete Vigen
Merete is a cultural nature guide based in west Jutland who specialises in the Filsø area, but she is also an adept communicator of the landscapes, wildlife, art and history extending from Skallingen in the south to Ringkøbing Fjord in the north. Merete has informed guests at Henne Kirkeby Kro for a number of years. Further details are available on

About Lake Filsø
Henne Kirkeby Kro is situated right next to unique Filsø Lake, which was restored in 2012 and now covers 915 hectares. The restoration helped turn Filsø into a high-diversity lake with 52 different plant species. It is not without a reason that the rehabilitation of Filsø has become a very popurlar tourist attraction named the miracle of Filsø.
